"Filling the Gap"

EAST ALABAMA SERVICES FOR THE ELDERLY, INC. (EASE) was formed in1974 by citizens of Auburn and Opelika to provide life sustaining services to senior citizens. The mission of the organization is outlined by the following goals:

  • To improve public attitudes toward the aging process.
  • To publicize the needs and obstacles facing the older population.
  • To provide health, educational, nutritional, and housing programs to improve the quality of life for the older population.
  • To address other areas of human needs that hinder the older population from living in a safe and nurturing environment.

EASE promotes the general welfare of individuals in Lee and Russell Counties and is funded through federal grants, state grants and contracts which are matched by local support from city and county governments, United Way, foundation grants and donations from private individuals, churches, clubs and civic organizations.
